😍✈️ Japón fue un país al que llegué de manera improvisada. Al aterrizar, me fui al baño del aeropuerto 😂😂 jajaj, quería ver cómo eran y probé todos los botones, relajándome con el sonido de agua que podía elegir. En Tokyo, tenía que ir hacia la estación de buses para llegar a Kyoto. Pues déjenme decirles que me topé con muy pocas personas que hablaran inglés y no se me ocurrió usar el google translator (novata jaja)🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Pues me dediqué a usar herramientas que nunca fallan: la sonrisa y señas. 😅😆

Iba de camino en un largo trayecto y el chofer del bus dijo algo en japonés que no entendí pero sonaba importante. Así que en una de las paradas que hacen para comprar snacks, tratamos de preguntarle pero no nos entendíamos. Una pasajera, al ver nuestro fallido intento de comunicación, se nos acercó y en un inglés muy básico, nos dijo: No Kyoto, tifón, inundado. Y se fue. 😱😱

¡A la grande! No tenía idea de dónde estábamos ni hacia donde nos dirigíamos y tras un rato de intentar lidiar con la barrera del lenguaje, nuestro chofer sacó google translator y trató de indicarnos los lugares donde paraba. 😅😅

En Kyoto nos esperaban dos amigos que vivían allí hacía varios años. No teníamos chip de celular ni forma de consultar en un mapa o información a ver cómo nos encaminábamos de nuevo a Kyoto. Tras un rato de entrar en pánico y risas nerviosas, conseguimos un wifi y logramos indicarles las paradas del autobús. 🎊🎊 Nos indicaron en cuál bajarnos y tras momentos de tensión, finalmente llegamos, con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja, con una bievenida tica calurosa para comenzar nuestra aventura japonesa. Valga decir que fue la primera vez que visité un restaurante donde nos dejaban cocinar nuestra propia comida con instrucciones. Japón de mi corazón, regreso pronto a perderme en cada rincón. 💗🥰💗🥰

Japan was a country I came in an improvised way. Upon landing, I went to straight to the airport bathroom hahaha, wanted to see what they were like and tried all the buttons, relaxing with the sound of water I could choose. In Tokyo, I had to go to the bus station to get to Kyoto. Well let me tell you that I ran into very few people who spoke English and it did not occur to me to use the google translator app (traveler beginer´s fail haha). Well, I used tools that never fail: the smile and signs.

I was on my way to Kyoto and the bus driver said something in Japanese that I didn't understand but it sounded important. So in one of the stops they make to buy snacks, we tried to ask him but failed completely to understand each other. A passenger, upon seeing our language barrier, approached us and in very basic English, said: No Kyoto, typhoon, flooded. And left.

WTF! We had no idea where we were or where we were going and after trying to deal with the difficulties comunicating for a while, our driver pulled out the google translator (finally jaja) and told us the next stops of the bus.

Two friends who lived in Japan were waiting for us in Kyoto. We had no cell chip or way to consult a map or information to see how to get to Kyoto from one of the stops. After a while of panicking and nervous laughter, we got a wifi and managed to contact them. They told us where to get off and after moments of tension, we finally arrived, with a smile from ear to ear, and had tico warm welcome to start our Japanese adventure. Needless to say, it was the first time I visited a restaurant where we were allowed to cook our own food with instructions. Japan of my heart, I´ll return soon to lose myself in every corner. ... 😍😍😍😍LOS VIAJEROS VOLVEREMOS A DESCUBRIR TIERRAS LEJANAS CON MÁS EMOCIÓN, ayudando la economía local, conociendo otros de corazón libre. 💓 Cuando llegué a CAMBOYA, mi mente estaba acostumbrada a recibir mucha información al mismo tiempo...😁tenía muchos meses de estar recorriendo países. Esto es una pincelada (pueden ver mi rostro tostado por el sol pero sonriente a más no poder, con mi mochila al hombro) mínima de porqué añoro regresar. 🥰 De hecho, en una realidad paralela sin COVID, allí estaría, tenía tiquetes para viajar a China en Mayo y luego aventurarme de nuevo por el Sudeste Asiático pero bueno, los planes NO se cancelan, solo se posponen. ¡NOS VEMOS PRONTO ASIA, mientras tanto disfruto mi hogar en mi hermoso PARAÍSO TICO!

TRAVELERS WILL DISCOVER NEW LANDS AGAIN, helping local economy and knowing others with a free heart: When i got to CAMBODIA, my mind was alread used to receive lots of inofmration at the same time.... This is a bit of why I yearn to return. (you can see my sun-tanned face but smiling the best I can, with my backpack on my shoulder). In fact, in a parallel reality without COVID, I would be there. I had tickets to travel to China in May and then to Southeast Asia, but hey, the plans are NOT canceled, just postponed. See you soon Asia, meanwhile, I enjoy my home in my beautiful TICO paradise! ... Ver masVer menos

Tomé esta fotografía el 31 de Diciembre, 2015. 💓 Apreciando el último atardecer del año, sabiendo que mi madre hubiera cumplido años el día siguiente (falleció en el 2014), con esperanza de reconstruirme y sentirme libre... y así fue hasta que empezó el COVID-19. 😔 Ayer fue un día difícil, tuve mucha ansiedad y nostalgia: en 🇨🇷 Costa Rica estamos enfrentando una segunda ola de contagios y estuvimos a punto de entrar en fase 3..pero el Viernes regresaron las restricciones de nuevo. 😱 Miles de negocios con alegría de abrir se vieron afectados, miles de personas con ganas de salir en su burbuja cancelaron planes. 🙄 Ayer vi esta foto y me siento igual que ese día: triste, un poco aprisionada (viajar es mi libertad) pero con mucha esperanza de que la vida post COVID comience pronto, con un panorama más sano y apreciación diferente. Ingenua o no, les mando mucho amor, donde quiera que estén en el mundo: ESTAMOS EN UNA MISMA TORMENTA PERO NO TODOS VAMOS EN EL MISMO TIPO DE BARCO...seamos solidarios 💓

I took this picture on December 31st 2015. I was watching the last sunset of the year, knowing that the next day, it would've been my mother's birthday (she died in 2014), with the hope of rebuilding my life and be free....and I did until COVID/19 came. Yesterday was a hard day, i had lots of anxiety and felt nostalgic: in Costa Rica, we're dealing with a second wave of infection and were about to start phase 3...but on Friday, restrictions came back to place. Thousands of businesses were affected, people had to cancel their plans. Yesterday I saw this picture and felt just like that same day: sad, in a prison (traveling is my freedom), but with hopes of better days post COVID soon: with a healthier vision of life, appreciation for smaller things. I may be naive but send you lots of love, wherever you are in the world: WE ARE ON THE SAME STORM BUT NOT ON THE SAME TYPE OF BOATS...LET'S TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER. ... Ver masVer menos
