¡Qué días más intensos estos, tanto adentro como afuera! ¡34 años después, finalmente estoy empezando a sentirme! Forzarme a dejar de sentir lo que siento ha sido una constante en mis 34 años de existencia. Y tal vez por ello, hasta en este nuevo ciclo, comienzo a entender porqué sigo llorando los mismos dolores, porque me enojo por las mismas cosas y porqué, lo que creía que había dejado atrás, tal vez no ha quedado del todo en el pasado. Por eso, este cumpleaños ha sido importante. Mientras mi amiga (hermana del alma acá en Canadá), me daba un regalo, yo reaccionaba llorando en el restaurante, contándole cómo me dolía lo que me dolía y porqué era tan significativo sentir que se tomaba el tiempo para compartir conmigo, ofrecerme un abrazo, escucharme por unos segundos y explicarle porqué esta fecha seguía siendo tan dura. Justo el forzarme a dejar de sentir lo que siento, me ha obligado a poner una sonrisa hasta cuando no es sincera.También lloré mucho cuando la manager de uno de mis trabajos, se tomó la molestia en darme unos aretes (que tan ilusionada había visto al inicio del día) como muestra de cariño. Y no por el regalo como tal, sino porque se esperó 8 horas para observar con qué de todo había sonreído más. Es el tiempo que dedicó y lo que me dijo cuando me los dio. Se sorprendió por mi reacción y no supo qué hacer más que abrazarme. Yo con toda la verguenza, no supe explicarle porqué estaba desconsolada. En la noche, lloré un poco más, realmente sin entender bien porqué.Estos días, he ido identificando, que mi lenguaje del amor es la palabra. Durante mi infancia, pocas veces escuché algo bonito sobre mí. Y tal vez por eso, mi forma de demostrar y recibir amor es a través de lo que me faltó cuando era niña. ¡Qué importante es, que justo al cumplir 34, me doy cuenta de lo fácil que es hacerme llorar con la palabra! Aún todavía, me cuesta recibir cumplidos, me hacen sentir incómoda porque no me siento merecedora de ello. Muchos mensajes de cumpleaños me hicieron llorar, literalmente. Porque en 34 años de existencia, me ha costado reconocer mi valor. ¿Porqué es tan importante la palabra? Porque YO NO la doy por sentado. Es cierto que las acciones también son super importantes y pueden herir, ó reparar, pero la palabra es, usualmente, la forma de comunicación más usada, la primera que aplicamos cuando queremos aproximarnos a alguien, cuando queremos enseñar ó explicar. Tal vez por eso, es que se da por sentado...porque es muy maleable, popular y por lo tanto, mal usada. Puede ser manipulada, deshonesta y usada a la ligera. Sin embargo, es a través de ella que yo me comunico y entiendo mejor. Lo que sale de mi boca, realmente lo siento. Por eso cuando me enojo, no me dejo hablar...me retiro y converso cuando estoy más tranquila. Se me hace muy importante, honrar la palabra con honestidad. Tal vez por eso, tampoco siento gracioso bromear con el ¨bullying¨, hacer comentarios despectivos ó agresivos y despreciar a otros porque ¨estoy vacilando¨.NO. Yo prefiero usar la palabra para algo más positivo, enriquecedor y para construír.Y en estos videos, no salgo llorando en ninguna. No porque algo no me duela de esta fecha, ó de cosas que espero de otros, ó de situaciones que he pasado en este último año que me han lastimado profundamente.....sino porque así como a través de la palabra demuestro amor, también demuestro mi vulnerabilidad. Y sí, después de las lloradas y sentirme apoyada por mis personas seguras, también me salen las risas. Y ese momento, es el que preferimos capturar y mostrar. Pero yo la tristeza no la escondo más, solo la muestro diferente. Es tan humana que puede convivir con la alegría, el enojo, la ilusión y la confusión. Todas vienen y van, ninguna es estática y por eso el mayor error que cometemos, es querer estar felices todo el tiempo. A veces aceptar lo que sentimos a como viene, es también parte de la sanación; siempre y cuando no nos estanquemos en alguna.Así que, cada vez es más claro, cómo la herida de infancia e historia de vida han calado tan hondo, que hasta en el lenguaje del amor, he reflejado mis carencias y cómo estas son lo que me hacen ser lo que soy de una manera positiva: alguien que AMA dar cumplidos, hablar, expresar y demostrar amor así. Estoy segura que como yo, muchos de ustedes, tendrán situaciones similares. ¡Qué bonito si pueden reflexionar en cómo prefieren dar y recibir amor también! Es un autoconocimiento que puede cambiar nuestras relaciones.En fin, la sociedad me ha hecho forzarme a dejar de sentir lo que siento. Pero hoy no. HOY, ME SIENTO, ME ESCUCHO, ME CONTEMPLO, LLORO, RIO, BAILO, ENTIENDO y espero finalmente, que no me tome llegar a los 35 con los mismos dolores. HOY lo sigo lavando poco a poco con compasión y autocontemplación. Porque la libertad de dejarme sentir NO es tan violento como forzarme a dejar de sentir. ¡Ay, de estos días intensos...Que linda prueba son! PD: Los lenguajes del amor son 1. Palabras de afirmación. 2. Tiempo de calidad. 3. Regalos 4. Actos de servicio y 5. Contacto físico. Chapman dice en su libro que TODOS los lenguajes, los utilizamos en nuestras relaciones de pareja y amistad. Solo que algunos de estos, se vuelven más importantes y los ponemos en práctica con mayor frecuencia...ya sea porque así preferimos recibir y dar amor. No hay una regla para esto. Pero les invito a reflexionar, ¿cuáles es ó son los más importantes para ustedes? La verdad es que yo amo recibir y dar amor en los 5, y mis preferencias pueden cambiar según el momento en que me encuentre. Lo cierto es que la comunicación verbal y escrita nunca me ha costado, y tal vez por eso, recibo y doy amor con más frecuencia a través de esta. ... Ver masVer menos

💫A magical moment in time. Why? Wojtek and Paulina knew how much I wanted to see a bear. They offered to take me through a highway that is well known for wildlife sightseeing. That day we didn't see a thing jaja 😅but what came next was one of the most memorable moments in the beginning of my journey through Canadian paradise. We went to Peyto Lake to see the sunset, saw the first Pika 🐭 in my life running through the rocks and admired a breathtaking view. I asked for permission to take them a picture, they agreed, didn't pose, just kept watching the sunset but for a brief moment they saw each other and smiled and this is it (first picture). 💗One of the most real couples I've ever met in my life. Once during work time (I used to work with Wojtek), he started telling me the story about how they met. The way he spoke about her, his eyes sparkling remembering that encounter was something that moved me. Love exists. And friendship? 💛Yes...Braulio was also part of this trip. And I also photograph the three of them (second picture): three souls that met and bonded in Canmore in the middle of hard challenges. Despite the actual physical distance (Braulio returned to his hometown in Chile), I have no doubts in my mind that they will meet each other in an incredible upcoming adventure.And as for me? 💚 I value people, connections and experiences. Friendship is something I don't take for granted anymore but I also know people come and go throughout stages of our lives. The souls that I meet become an important part of my life story, building lessons, memories and emotions that I will treasure forever. So thank you Wojtek, Paulina and Braulio for sharing time, energy and smiles with me. This tica friend will always be happy to have met you and meet you in the near future. Nature is refugee but a home is too. I´ve been thinking lately about how traveling was a way of running away from a reality I didn´t want to face. It then turned into passion and a tool that has allowed me to rediscover a Criss who wants to experience things like having a home, a family and a sanctuary I can come to. Sometimes, when I see all this pictures, I can see how much I´ve grown, learned and it makes sense that at this point in life, I don´t romanticize travelling like I used to. It´s a passion and a way that has helped me be more aware of my insecurities but somehow, it also feels overwhelming.I guess we all change and feel tired of not having much stability, community and adapting faster to cultures, environments, new people, new job, new routine can also be a struggle.Has any other traveler encountered in the same situation? If so, what would be your advice to regain some balance and build a support network around? ❤Peru❤ There are some places I will never forget, specially how they made me feel. 🤯Peru was the first country I visited in South America. It was my first time in a desert and in a glacier. It was also the first trip where I photographed people and felt connected with them. Feeling the sand beneath my feet, getting to the top of a dune, learning of their ancestors, hearing peruvians speaking quechua. It was dreamy for a girl in her 20's, desperate to discover the world. Every time I take myself back in time, I can still smile from the joy. ✨Those magical images and sensations are some of my happy places. I take my mind there whenever feel scared of something. 🍁Hello Canada! First of all I want to thank all the people who have been supporting me throughout this journey...🥰and I want to share this story because it´s been a massive learning process for me and it could be useful for any traveler out there: fear of the unknown and definitely getting out of a comfort zone. 💟I applied for a canadian working visa before Covid....then the pandemic hit and until 2021, I was able to continue the process. Finally, last year I got approved but wasn´t counting on so many things happening around: moving from the mountains to the city, unexpected deaths, legal paperwork, juggling with 2 jobs, another change of house, so much stress, traveling back and forth and not really for pleasure (although I did have fun), etc.....And after so many years of waiting, I was finally able to come! 😎 My plans changed, just like life changes all the time because I found harmony and felt really connected with my life partner, Pilsen (the black silly dog) and Luna (the cozy and moody white cat). 💟 I had to leave them in the US for a while cause all of us moving here wasn´t really a choice, and US is definitely a temporary situation since we really don´t like it for a permanent home. Home will always be Costa Rica 💟 (love traveling but in love with the tico paradise).At the end, Canada felt just like the right opportunity to be able to reunite with them in the upcoming months, get on the road again as a solo traveler to rediscover myself and start building community in a new town! 😍💙I can´t really complain! I´ve been here for almost a week and found a cozy place to call home, my roomates are awesome and I found a nice job to entertain myself! But the first 3 days I was freaking scared...I guess I was just so happy with my family that this seemed not like the right plan anymore. 😟❤️So I´ve been learning (or relearning) a few things that think can be useful for any traveler who feels anxiety, fear to take a leap of faith on an adventure:✅Don´t take any decisions during an emotional crisis, you´re probably going to be impulsive and not give the chance to experience what could be a really interesting journey (with ups and downs).✅If you don´t feel like a plan fits you anymore, have thought about changing it and the answer is the same when you feel calmer after a couple of days: then change your plans. It doesnt matter what people says, your life is a unique adventure and it´s too beautiful to spend it somewhere you don´t feel right.✅Mental health should always be a priority in life: Find a professional who can give you tools to manage your emotions in a healthier way and provide support.✅Find a community: Whenever you move to a new place, loneliness can be awful but it really helps when you make new connections and share with other fellow travelers or locals.✅Treat yourself with compassion and respect: You are a unique human being who deserves inner peace and remember that everything comes from the inside. If you´re not giving yourself a nice and compassionate treat, you can´t expect others to do the same or for you to give others that.✅Find hobbies, explore around and look for any interesting activity that you enjoy: Doing exercise, walking, hiking, biking, going to the gym, anything that makes your body moves, will help it to produce natural endorphins which contribute to your well being and will also keep your mind busy and excited.✅Eat healthy and right: I found myself too tired this past days and its probably because I´m adjusting to a new diet and not really eating that much. So I still have to improve this point but I´m getting there soon!✅The way you treat your body and mind matters: Have a negative thought? Change it for something positive. Connect with life through abundance and not lack. For example: I miss my family so much, my job is shitty or this person was horrible to me. Well yes, everyone misses people when travelling but this is temporary and it can change any minute so enjoy the journey with ups and downs and learn from it....you´re not dependant on anyone in life, you decide to share your life with people but you´re also allow to spend time on your own. Your job is shitty? Change it! As impossible as it seems, you´ll never know whats available until you start looking for it! A person was horrible to you?? You won´t be able to control what other people do to you but you can control your words and actions......make sure not to be on the same level as them and learn to be more assertive. What goes around, comes around.I can keep writing more and more cause this first week was an emotional challenge for me, even with the amazing opportunity I have, even with my tica friend around who is INCREDIBLE and even with a lot of support from el macho at a distance.❤️Your mind is powerful baby.....let´s thrive through the waves of storm together until the peace comes and you can find the best for you: either staying or moving somewhere else. At the end, that´s the beauty of life: you can always CHANGE AND GROW. ❤️PS 1: If you feel someone needs to remember this, or can be useful to anybody, feel free to share. ❤️PS 2: One of the pictures has a mouse welcoming me at the aiport jejejeje, you cannot believe how people screamed around me. The airline agent didn´t know what to do....I just felt bad for the poor mouse...being in the wrong place 😅 He didn´t have any good hiding skills jajajaPS 3: Canada is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
