Istanbul! Beautiful emotional chaos. I was having lunch around the hostel when suddenly, I heard the most incredible sound in my life: a voice that repeated words in a different language, like a song. I was petrified listening and felt a desire to get up and follow the sound to see where it came from. It inundated the whole city, hypnotized my mind, lifted me from the seat and I closed my eyes until it stopped.
As I told you in a recent post, I’m a control freak to organize a trip when I have limited time to travel and I know it can be chaotic if we do not have a proper guide to pull it of. So I want to show you what I do, a method that has worked for me every time so I can have a trip with less complications.
I came back to my tico paradise following my heart after spending a lot of months outside and literally going around the world. Returning was a strong learning process, just like traveling. Returning to what I considered my home challenged me, taught me that I have fears that I didn't know existed, that I have too many things to work on and improve
It’s no secret to anyone that Iceland's climate is unpredictable, changing and extreme. It’s impressive and adaptable nature make this country a natural paradise and at the same time a risk if you are not prudent.
Driving around the ring road through Iceland is undoubtedly an adventure. In winter it isn't popular to travel in camper because the weather is extreme. Still, it is the best time to witness the northern lights because of the long periods of darkness. We made this trip for 19 days in a camper van during March and April when, in theory, seasons are changing from winter to summer (I say in theory because the icelandic weather is a box of surprises: we drove in snowfall with incredible winds and we had total summer days). We drove around the whole coast of Iceland and we were lucky enough to find almost all roads open, resulting in an incredible experience. I want to share some tips that can be useful if you decide to travel this way and know the wonderful landscapes on your own!
Bergen is a city known all over the world not only for its breathtaking beauty but also for its musical scene, specifically about a type of extreme metal music called black metal. Many of the most representative bands of this genre are from Bergen: Burzum, Immortal and Gorgoroth just to mention a few ones.
In search of warmer lands we went to Seville, historic capital of Andalusia, and without planning it the first thing we heard at the airport was that we arrived just for the last three days of the April fair.
